The way from Starý Plzenec
I was born in Pilsen, but grew up in a small city called Starý Plzenec, 10 km away from Pilsen.
I started playing handball at the age of 6 in Starý Pizenec. There I have done my first handball steps.
Playing in the C youth, I changed with the help of my class teacher (former national goalkeeper Svatopluk Pavelka) to Slavia Pilsen. There I remained up to B youth.
In the last season with the B youth we have won all games and became Czech champion. Our trainer was Miloslav Moulis and I must say, this man has taught us a lot. In that season I became the best player and goal scorer of the final tournament of the B youth.
The première in 1-st. Czech League
I have played my debut in the 1-st Czech league still in Pilsen. There I have played for Kovopetrol Pilsen one match against Hranice and achieved my first goal in 1-st League (at this day also my only goal). This was my only match for Kovopetrol Pilsen. During the season I got many offers. At the age of 18 years I signed my first professional contract with Dukla Prague. It was time for me to move to Prague.
Three Years at the Capital
I remained three years in the capital with Dukla Prague. Immediately in the first season I was distinguished as the " best Rookie (beginner) ". At that time, I was just 18 years and 6 month-old, I received my first invitation for the national team. I owe Dukla Prague a lot. Above all, they immediately gave me the possibility to present me on the field, even though that I was one more A-youth player. In November, 2003 I left my native country and went from Prague to St. Gallen/Switzerland.
The Switzerland
I played in St. Gallen/Switzerland 18 months and it was really a nice time for me. I have felt good there and was very satisfied. During the time I have spent in Switzerland I got to know I a lot of people and I have also learnt many things beyond the handball sport. Then in January, 2005 I got several offers and decided to go to TBV Lemgo.
Germany
I always wanted to play in the German federal league. When I signed my contract in Lemgo, it was a very important day in my handball career. Immediately in the first season I won with the TBV the EHF-cup. I was the first Czech after 22 years who has won thus an international cup. This is my biggest success which I had till present. I am very contented in Lemgo and I also feel in the team very well.
The Arabian experiences
In February, 2002 I got an offer of Al Ahli Jeddah from Saudi Arabia for a tournament of the country next to the gulf. It took place in Dubai. At that time I have seen everything as a big adventure and got involved in my first foreign engagement. In Tunisia we had only one-week time for the preparation with the team, but at the end we have won the bronze medallion.
Then in Dubai I got an offer from Qatar up to the seasonal end of 2002. First I flew back to Prague, but already three days later I sat in the airplane to Qatar again. I played there for Al Ahli sport club of Qatar and we won the prestige Emir's cup. After nearly 4 months I flew back to Prague.
Two years later I played again in Qatar for Al Arabi sport club, but this time merely for 3 weeks. Then in the Emir's cup we have retired in the semi-final.
During my time in Qatar I have thought about a lot. I came to to the end that this at all was not the way I wanted to go in the handball sport. My dream and purpose was to play somewhere in Europe and to fight the international titles.
Instead of new experiences concerning sports I made a lot of experiences concerning life in general and got to know a completely different mentality than the European one. I do not regret at all that I have folloewed the invitation to play there - rather it is an important period of my life. |
